Bauer Neudecker is on a roll.
Two days after getting a hat trick against the Hopkins Royals, he got another one Thursday night to lead the St. Louis Park Orioles to a 4-2 win over the Holy Angels Stars at The Rec Center.
It didn't take long for Bauer Neudecker to put the puck in the net in the first period when he sped down the center slot like a car heading down Belt Line Blvd. and scored a short handed goal to put the Orioles ahead. The Stars would tie the game at one as Isaac Baron, the lone Holy Angels senior, rebounded Freddie Macciocchi's shot and scored.
St. Louis Park opened the second period as Shea Pekarek's shot was saved by Holy Angels goalie Brendan Pasdo and there was Bauer Neudecker, positioned on the left side of the net and scored on the rebound. Bauer Neudecker would get his hat trick as he got a pass from Sam Baker in the center slot and the Oriole lead was up to two. The Stars would strike back :33 later when Macciocchi cut through the center slot and scored an unassisted goal to trim the lead to one.
With 2:13 left in the third period, Holy Angels head coach Trent Palm pulled Pasdo for a sixth attacker and the Orioles would capitalize on the desolate net when Johnny Sorenson picked up the loose puck in the neutral zone and rifled it into the net to clinch the win.
St. Louis Park won their fifth straight game and improved their record to 7-3 and returns to action Saturday, January 7 at 7:30 against the Mankato East Cougars. It's their third game against a Big Nine Conference school and the Orioles are 2-0 against the Big Nine, with victories over the Rochester Mayo Spartans and the Owatonna Huskies. Holy Angels fell to 4-5-2 and will also be back in action on the 7th as they take on the fourth ranked team in Class AA, the Edina Hornets.
