A center court view of the new Target Center scoreboard
When high school basketball fans descend on Target Center in March for the state boys and girls basketball tournaments, they will be treated to a new scoreboard that was installed while the Minnesota Lynx was on a break due to the Summer Olympics in August.
The board's centerpiece is the giant screen that's on all four sides of the arena. Above the giant video screen is game information such as time and score. Also, there are four other video boards that are on the arena's sides.
It's all part of a massive renovation of Target Center that will take place following the conclusion of the Timberwolves season in April,. It will also mean the Lynx will be relocated to the Xcel Energy Center in downtown St. Paul for the 2017 season.
As for the state girls and boys basketball tournaments, the girls will take place March 14-18 and the boys March 22-25 with Target Center the site for the semifinals and finals. No schedule has been released for the girls.
